The short film We Two Boys inhabits the world of post-Civil War America, as seen through it's queer poet, Walt Whitman.

Using his classic poem from "Leaves of Grass" as a starting point, We Two Boys is an animation that brings together written and spoken word, music, and image in a lyrical tribute to affectionate men in the 19th century.

We Two Boys uses text, spoken narration, original music, and historic photographs of men together (including daguerreotypes, tintypes, cartes-de-visite) to illustrate the poem.
